Clinicopathological Survey on Ovarian Tumors

Abstract
Clinicopathologic studies were made on a series of 165 cases of ovarian tumors, that were admitted to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Seoul Red Cross Hospital during the period of 7 years from January, 1974 to December, 1980. The results were as follows;
1) The incidence of benign tumor was 83% of all ovarian tumors and that of malignant tumor was 17%.
2) That of cystictumors was 79.4%. while that of solid ones was 3.6%.
3) The 88.6% of cystic terstonia was distributed in the 20-39 year aged d group, the 76.6% of benign tumor except cystic teratoma was in 20-49 year aged group.
4) The incidence of infertility in ovarian tumor was 22.4% and that of benign ones 25.5%, and that of malignant ones was 71.
5) Menstruation was regular in 48.5% and irregular in 12.7%.
6) Abdominal pain and discomforts: were noted in 71.5% and palpable mass noted in 51.5%.
7) Bilaterality ,was 14.5% in all ovarian tumors and 32. 1% in malignant ones.
8) The pedicle torsion was noted in 10.3% of all ovarian tumors and 16.2% in cystic teratomas.
9) The incidence of cystic teratoma, mucinous & serious cystadenoma were 29.0%, 28.3%, and 25.7% in order.
10) The rate of serous cysyadenoma and cystadenocarcinoma was, 6.3 1 and that of mucinous tumor was 8.4: 1.
